Sawtooth Forest - Cassia Division - Trail 239 - Pike Mountain

This is a pretty popular trail and isn't far from Porcupine Campground. When I took pictures of this trail, I mistakenly took the first three pictures from the wrong direction because I rode trail 241, turned North onto 239 and went to the Northern most end of the trail about half mile to the end of the trail where it meets road 116, then turned around and went back to the 241 trailhead juntion and continued the rest of the way down to the Diamondfield Jack day use parking area.  Somewhat dangerous at the Southern end due to hidden curves.  Go slow to avoid head on collisions.

Pictures taken on September 7, 2013

This picture shows you going North right off of 241 Trail Canyon

Facing North just North of the cutoff

Facing North farther up the trail

This picture shows you what you would see at the "start" of the trail on the Northern most end facing South.

This picture is back at the 241 cutoff heading South.  The rest of the pictures are in order.

This picture is taken where the trail "merges" with the Pike Mountain road for few yards.

You can see the trail to the left in the background.

Trail goes to the left, road to the right.  The next picture shows the merge.

Again, trail to the left, road to the right -

This area goes through a narrow bushy area.  Go slow, a friend had a head on collision in this area a couple years back.  No one was hurt but their pride...

This shows you where you go right to continue on the trail, or turn left to go onto 163 Little Fork.

Again, narrow bushy area.

More bushes.

Coming off the trail looking down into Diamondfield Jack day use parking on the right, and Diamondfield Jack Campground across the main road in the background.

From the parking area looking back at the trailhead.

Another picture a little farther up.
